Joss Stone 'introduces' a modern touch to classic soul music

Joss Stone didn't grow up in Mississippi, Alabama, Detroit or Chicago; she wasn't the daughter of a pastor, and she didn't sing every Sunday in a Baptist church. She didn't develop her love for gospel music while watching from a choir pew as the preacher hollered beneath the glory of God. Far from it.

Not to insult Baffi-Dugan in any way - you've been fooled by the best.

Top 10 | YouTube.com's greatest hits

Forget revolutionizing commerce and streamlining communication, YouTube.com has found the real reason that the Internet was invented. Recognizing its contribution to humankind, YouTube.com has patted itself on the back with the recent unveiling of the first annual YouTube Video Awards. The results aren't very surprising, but creative videos like OK Go's ubiquitous treadmill dance and Madyeti47's Pixar-like "Kiwi" do deserve to be honored. To do our part in glorifying YouTube.com, the Daily presents our favorite videos, all of which are immeasurably better when you should be writing a paper.

Experiencing African culture without buying a plane ticket, making any reservations or skipping at least a week's worth of classes might sound about as likely as the administration calling off finals. Food, music and interactive workshops will comprise just part of the fourth annual Intercollegiate African Music and Arts Festival.
