Davis Square construction remains a work in progress

In recent months, Davis Square has been a frenzy of new construction and modernization. The intent is to usher in a new wave of transformation for Somerville and to maintain its positive momentum by continuing to develop, according to the Web site of the Davis Area Resident Business Initiative committee (DARBI), which is overseeing the process.

Blink-182 minus Tom DeLonge gives you mediocre +44

In the wake of Blink-182, the world seems a bit lost as to in what direction pop-punk is supposed to go. The former Blink members - Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker - have all found new groups, but as of yet, none have come close to filling the void left by their former '90s juggernaut.

Sam Dupont | Red Sky at night

Last week, I opened up the China Daily to discover on the front page of the business section one of the most terrifying headlines I can imagine in a Chinese newspaper. No need to head for your bomb shelter: It's nothing so dramatic; it simply read, "Demand for autos moves into high gear: Nation's auto industry set to become world's biggest within 10-15 years."

Every year near Valentine's Day, Tufts Voices for Choice (VOX) hosts "The Vagina Monologues," a play intended to bring more women into discussions about their bodies and sexuality. VOX also throws "Vulvapalooza" on so-called "V-Day" as a fundraiser and as a way of raising awareness.

I think I've fallen in love with noodle girl #0110. It's not her palindromic ID number that's so attractive, nor is it the teal apron she wears over her starched-white uniform. No, what turns me on is the way she doles out justice with every ladleful of Shanxi-style cut noodles.

The hockey team notched its first win of the season last Tuesday with a 4-1 win over a previously undefeated Southern New Hampshire team in Manchester. The non-league win prompted a collective sigh of relief from the roster and gave the now 1-2 Jumbos a spurt of confidence early in the season.

Campus Cooking | Less talk, more pie

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, many of us are eagerly looking forward to indulging ourselves silly at this classic American feast of bounty. Of course, we must also be wary and keep in mind the old adage, "All is best in moderation." While I would normally rally to the call of such sage wisdom, I must concede that all caution can be heartily defenestrated in a certain situation. That situation is when you are in the presence of pie.

Men's Squash | Team splits opening matches vs. NESCAC foes

For the men's squash team, last year's final record of 11-12 is something the Jumbos would prefer to forget. This time around, they began their season on the right foot - three games into the season, they were above .500, sitting at 2-1. Unfortunately for the Tufts squad, a loss later in the weekend dropped the team to 2-2.
