The Honeymoon Period: Biden's fall from grace

To his credit, Biden promptly made a good-faith, constructive effort to bridge the party’s divides by forming a series of task forces consisting of elected officials, policy thinkers and activists from both the moderate and progressive wings. But the events of last week may have caused irreparable rifts within the party.

Hot Take: ‘Palm Springs’ is unfairly underrated

What I enjoyed the most about this movie was that it explored these imaginary scenarios in a very light, yet existentialist manner. I honestly don’t know how I’d classify its genre. Rom-com? Maybe. Sci-fi? Definitely. Nihilistic and existentialist, forcing you to look at your own life differently? Hell yeah!

Power to the Players: The Atlanta Dream and Renee Montgomery's triumph

In July, Kelly Loeffler, one of Georgia's senators at the time and co-owner of the Atlanta Dream, wrote a letter to WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbart stating her opposition to players' supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. Many players throughout the league were outraged by Loeffler’s response, even calling for her resignation or removal from the ownership group, a rare occurrence in any professional sports league.

These are songs that have eased anxiety, comforted in moments of isolation, echoed the moments of fear and of hope.

The Graffiti Street: An ephemeral span of eternal stories

Fortunately, and unfortunately, this street is one of the very few places where graffiti is completely allowed and legal. People obviously love it. The punchy colors and bold lines could invigorate the disciplined city even though the rareness of their appearance couldn’t do much as a whole.

The Strike Zone: Why nuclear weapons are good for peace

It may sound counterintuitive, but nuclear weaponry has been crucial in preventing major warfare since World War II. The threat of mutually assured nuclear destruction deters countries from engaging in total interstate wars and gives countries incentive to strengthen international institutions through arms control treaties and collective security measures.

Coffee Talk: Danish Pastry House

Sitting thousands of miles away from campus, I wondered if my favorite coffee shop would be forced to close down. I was getting sick of whipped coffee, banana bread and all the other TikTok trends; all I wanted was to be sitting in DPH with a kringle and a hot cup of coffee.

Building blocks: Classroom to cell

We must begin by creating new disciplinary policies within our schools. Rather than excessive suspensions and expulsions, we must create educational, empathetic avenues that give students the room to grow as individuals.

A Fantastic Voyage: "In the beginning..."

Despite their great popularity in the Silver Age of comics, though, the Fantastic Four have struggled to maintain widespread recognition. This is due, at least in my assessment, to a lack of quality mainstream media representation over the last half-century.

The Honeymoon Period: The most fragile coalition

For President Biden’s first 100 days, I will be covering this seemingly unworkable dynamic: a sclerotic Senate that caters to more conservative Democrats like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, an increasingly populist, left-wing House caucus and a president whose campaign relied heavily on the notion that he could get things done.
