The Boston Symphony Orchestra is where your next live music adventure can come to life, and it is only about a 40-minute trip from Tufts to Symphony Hall. Many of us are not very familiar with the classical music scene because it is not typically presented as an activity worth attending, but I would advise you to give it a chance.
Tufts football secured their first win in their season opener in an away game against Bowdoin, making their mark within the NESCAC with a winning score of 13–0. The Jumbos are currently holding a 10-game win streak against the Polar Bears.
The Jumbos hit the road for the first time in the fall 2025 semester for their first tournament of the season in Salisbury, Maryland at Maggs Activities Center this past weekend. The schools that participated in the series were the Tufts Jumbos, Salisbury Sea Gulls and the Gettysburg Bullets.
Assistant Professor Lauryn Spearing joined Tufts University’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering this semester. Spearing obtained her bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctorate degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and, she was an assistant professor at the University of Illinois Chicago before joining Tufts. The Daily sat down with Spearing to discuss her transition, research and goals.
Returning from Thanksgiving break, men’s squash welcomed Cornell University this past weekend. Tufts beat the University of Rochester 6–3 at home, leaving them with a record of 2–3 as of Nov. 23. The Big Red are ranked No. 9 while the Jumbos are ranked No. 10. The matchup was a highly intense game, with the Jumbos losing 8–1. Sophomore Rutva Samant secured the lone win for the Jumbos.
In a game packed with excitement, Tufts football ended its season with a winning record of 7–2 coming out of their most recent senior day win against Middlebury on Saturday. At the start of the game, Middlebury won the coin toss and deferred to Tufts, letting them receive the ball first.
