Steve Tisch, Tufts alum and prominent donor, is in the Epstein Files.

Steve Tisch, the Tufts alum, a film producer and co-owner of the New York Giants, communicated extensively with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein — discussing women in vulgar terms and meeting up in person, as shown in the latest round of files released by the Department of Justice in late January. His name is scattered across campus, adorning entrances to both the Tisch Library and the Steve Tisch Sports and Fitness Center, the result of tens of millions in donations made to the university. Though Tisch has not been charged with any wrongdoing, it is unclear whether the university is considering renaming the buildings bearing his name. The university has not said whether or not discussions on the matter have taken place. Only six years ago, another public scandal forced the Tufts administration to reckon with a controversial namesake. The Tufts School of Medicine — once named after the Sackler family — was renamed in 2019 after the family’s role in creating the opioid epidemic came to light. Hosted by Julian Glickman. Shot and edited by Matthew Sage. Produced by Maya Godard.

Peter's Pizzeria: A Day in the Life of a Full-Time-Student Pizzeria

Peter's Pizzeria is a hole-in-the-house pizzeria run by a group of juniors at Tufts University. They prepare dough on Wednesdays; cook and sell on Saturdays. Outside of the pizzeria is a four-square, a chess board and menus written on whiteboards. It has become a space of gathering, even if only for a couple of months. Tufts community weighs in on closing of JCC Starbucks

Last week, students hoping to grab a quick cup of coffee on their way to class in the Joyce-Cummings Center were met with an unpleasant surprise: The Starbucks, a staple of the JCC’s bottom floor since it opened in 2022, is now permanently closed. To students’ dismay, the coffee company shuttered its pick-up only location last Saturday, sending students scrambling for their usual coffee fix. The closure is part of the coffee giant’s larger plan to reverse declining sales and falling stock prices. Under new leadership, Starbucks is moving away from the pandemic-era pick-up locations — offering nothing more than mobile orders and a sparse seating — and back toward the more traditional atmosphere of your local coffeeshop, aiming to provide a more “warm and welcoming” atmosphere in a bid to lure customers back to their business. But the change is certain to disrupt the coffee habits of Tufts students and force them scrambling to find an alternative. Here's what they had to say about the news.
