Boston shuttle canceled due to drunk passengers

Tufts' Boston Bus Shuttle, which transported students between the Medford/Somerville campus and downtown Boston on weekend nights, was canceled last week after Peter Pan Bus Lines of Boston terminated its contract with the Tufts Community Union (TCU) Senate for the rest of the year because the company's drivers were uncomfortable with the high incidence of drunk student passengers.

Fusion concert to feature Asian-American artists

The annual Fusion concert, described as a "spoken word, hip-hop and rock concert," is tonight at 9 p.m. in the Dewick-MacPhie dining hall. The concert is a joint effort between the Asian American Alliance, formerly known as the Asian Community at Tufts, and Onyx, Tufts' black literary and visual arts magazine. Asian American musicians will perform for most of the night, but there will also be a poetry slam session, hosted specifically by Onyx.

Panelists discuss depression on college campuses

Panelists ranging from a medical professor to the sister of a suicide victim came to Tufts yesterday to help raise awareness about depression in college. The talk, titled "Understanding Depression on College Campuses," took place in the Rabb Room from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Spring weather raises spirits on the Hill

Students relax in a hammock on the academic quad yesterday after the first wave of spring heat brought them out of their dorms to enjoy the weather. As temperatures rose into the 70s, some professors held their classes outside, while students took advantage of the heat by playing frisbee or lounging in the sun.

Men's Fencing | Foil squad of Tovrov, McCauley and Jamison captures national title

After finishing just one point shy of a national title two years ago, the men's fencing team's foil squad couldn't even make the trip to the United States Association of Collegiate Fencing Clubs (USACFC) championships last season. Unable to afford the high travel costs, Tufts had to sit the tournament out and wait at least another year for the chance to finish what it had started in 2006.

Muse explodes onto the stage in 'H.A.A.R.P.'

Muse has long been a band that's fallen under the radar of most popular rock enthusiasts in the United States, and it's truly a tragedy that such is the case. The band's epic rock style, complete with music videos featuring laser-shooting, motorcycle-riding space cowboys, is one of the only entirely novel sounds the rock world has seen of late.
