A desperate Darfur

During a presentation this past week of the Agohozo Shalom Youth Village created in Rwanda for orphans of the genocide, Sipha Nsengimana emphasized that the term genocide has become a household word, used frequently and casually. She stressed that survivors of the 1994 genocide are still trying to live through the trauma and pain, coping with the knowledge that while their families were murdered before their eyes, the rest of the world looked on.

Although often overshadowed by the English Premier League and the Spanish Primera, the Italian Serie A is a close third for the most popular domestic soccer competition on the globe. Despite the recent controversy surrounding the match-fixing scandal that led to serious repercussions for AC Milan and Juventus, Serie A has bounced back and seen some outstanding clashes this season among four notable clubs: AC Milan, Juventus, Roma and Inter Milan.
