Motherhood: A punishment at Tufts?

Recently, I attended a meeting for the new on-campus club, Tufts Alliance for the Advancement of Mothers. Held on Nov. 15, the meeting was small, but full of women and even some men dedicated to the issue of women's rights. The founders of the group, recent grad Anne Stevenson and senior Yissy Perez, as well as other women, told us their amazing stories of surviving at Tufts as students and mothers.

'Casino' shakes up Bond series, but plot isn't stirring enough

Bond, James Bond is back in "Casino Royale," the 21st and latest release in the 44-year-old film series. The film delves into Bond's younger days as a secret service agent, depicting the first mission of his career. He must beat an evil banker, Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), in a high-stakes poker game to keep him from funding terrorist groups. The prequel approach offers a fresh view of a younger, rougher and blonder James Bond, played by Daniel Craig.

Yesterday, three days before Americans coast-to-coast will gather over turkey and cranberry sauce to remember when early settlers and natives set aside their cultural and religious differences, 25 graduate and undergraduate students gathered over hummus and falafel to hear a panel of experts discuss how the galvanized factions of war-torn Lebanon might one day do the same.

Foo Fighters' 'Skin and Bones' is a live look at an old body of work

Dave Grohl has everything a rock star could want: cred as the drummer for Nirvana, his own band and a sweet beard. After five consecutive platinum albums (two of which were double-platinum), the Foo Fighters needed some way to commemorate their success. Instead of doing a typical "greatest hits" compilation, Grohl opted for a live album, this time: "Skin and Bones." An accompanying DVD will be released Nov. 28.

I want my ESPN, say dorm residents

ESPN was introduced to Bush and Miller Halls in September with the promise of expansion to other dorms soon after. But students in those other dorms may be disappointed if they try to switch on Monday Night Football in their common rooms.
