The thrill of doing it in the dark

I walk to ECO meetings alone, because most people in my dorm are in for the night by 9:30 - working or fooling around - and definitely have no desire to walk uphill in the cold. I got lost finding the first meeting because I didn't know that the main floor in Eaton is actually the second floor. My fingers were numb, I was late, and I didn't recognize anyone. It was frightening to be outside of the freshman world, but I stayed through the meeting and walked out with a handful of posters on "Do it in the Dark," the club's residence hall energy initiative.

How much do you want to bet that your salmon filet was dyed to that shade of pink? If the salmon was farm-raised, you can bet your Dining Dollars that it had to be dyed, or else buyers would have taken one look at the pale pink flesh of farmed salmon and looked elsewhere.

Volleyball | Jumbos seeing purple as they gear up for NESCAC Tournament

The volleyball team ended its regular season with a road trip to Hamilton, N.Y., this weekend, where the Jumbos played back-to-back NESCAC games against the host Continentals and Williams. The team ended up splitting, burying Hamilton in three straight games on Friday but dropping the match to Williams on Saturday. The Jumbos returned home with a No. 4 playoff seed, their lowest since 2003 and a disappointing drop from the two-spot they occupied heading into the weekend, but a sparkling 23-7 overall record nevertheless.

To pub or not to pub

On Oct. 13, the Tufts Daily printed an article by David Pomerantz summing up the previous night's "Community Conversation on Social Life." That night, the conversation focused on two topics as Pomerantz noted: "a perceived increase in aggressive tactics by the Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) [and] the recent Tufts Community Union (TCU) Senate proposal of capitalizing on a planned renovation of Hotung Caf?© to convert the space into a pub."

Like every other college student who would much rather do just about anything other than his homework, I am much enamored with the phenomenon that is YouTube. Through YouTube, I learned a great amount of usefully useless crap. Not as much as from Wikipedia or IMDB (both great procrastination tools), but a significant amount nonetheless.

Concert Preview | Method to turn Dewick into '37th Chamber'

It may be the day after Halloween, but the Concert Board has one more treat in store for the campus: Tonight, at 9 p.m. in Dewick, rappers Method Man and Saigon will come to Tufts. Headliner Method Man has a long history in the rap industry, while opener Saigon is an accomplished rapper who has just recently gained mainstream notoriety after his stint on the popular HBO series "Entourage."
