Zara Larsson will headline Spring Fling, the Tufts University Social Collective announced this Thursday. The concert will take place on April 25 at 12:30 p.m. on the Academic Quad.
Larsson, popular for her 2015 hits “Lush Life” and “Never Forget You,” returned to the spotlight after the dolphin meme of her song “Symphony” went viral. She recently released a new album, “Midnight Sun,” last September, which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Pop Recording. She is also set to perform at Yale’s 2026 Spring Fling.
Larsson has had a resurgence since her collaboration with British singer PinkPantheress in her remix of “Stateside.” The song was selected by double gold Olympian Alysa Liu for the 2026 Figure Skating Exhibition Gala.
GROUPLOVE is an American alternative rock band formed in 2009, most known for their hit song “Tongue Tied” which has over one billion streams on Spotify and spent twenty weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2012.
The group performed their hit song at the Jonas Brothers’ 13th concert tour in Atlanta last October, eliciting excitement from ‘gleeks’ as the song was featured in a 2011 episode of Glee, only a month after the songs release.
GROUPLOVE is currently on tour with four upcoming shows in Texas, California, Colorado and Wisconsin and their new album is set to be released this May.
With an effort to make the performances shorter and maintain audience engagement, this year’s Spring Fling will only feature the two artists, as opposed to the usual three.
“There will be two artists this year rather than the customary three artists to shorten the length of the show, as we know that has been of concern in past years, with students leaving before the headliner goes on stage,” TUSC wrote in an email to the Daily.
